Friday the 13th

Probably not the best day to be starting a blog, but I’m not hugely superstitious, and today is no worse than any other, so here goes.

I’m Squirrel, aka Owain and I hail from the rain drenched lands of the Welsh. I’ve been playing poker for about a year, some live games with friends, and also some online games too. I like to read up on the strategy, theory and mathematics behind poker, so I’ll be sharing some of the things I learn with you as I go along.

If you’re here reading this blog, this means that you too have an interest in poker. You may be a complete beginner looking for some idea of how to play the game; you may have played the game for a while and are looking for likeminded souls to discuss poker, learn new ideas, or just simply get to know some of the people you’ve beaten; or you may be an expert, looking to pass on some of your knowledge and teach new people, or get some information on those people who’ll be taking your crown in a few years. All of you are more than welcome to this site, and we hope you join our community.

If you’re looking for a little something more, then consider the challenge that I’ve put to Monster (and myself). We both start with a £50 deposit in an account on any of the multitude of poker game sites out there. We then have to work that £50 up to entry into the WSOP in 2009, in particular an H.O.R.S.E. event, hopefully the $50,000 World Champion H.O.R.S.E event. Why H.O.R.S.E.? Because H.O.R.S.E. is viewed by all professional players as the King of Poker Games, as you have to be good in all five of the component poker games. Why 2009? Cos you need to be good in 5 poker games and we need the time to learn and practice! Do we think we can do it? Maybe, maybe not, but its sure going to be fun trying! And that’s what this site is all about. Having fun whilst playing poker.

Why don’t you join us?

Cya later
